Xiaomi has officially introduced its second electric vehicle, the YU7 SUV, marking a significant step forward in its EV journey. Designed to compete directly with Tesla’s Model Y, the YU7 showcases Xiaomi’s advanced technology, striking design, and powerful performance capabilities.

Multiple Variants to Suit Different Needs

The Xiaomi YU7 is available in three variants: Standard, Pro, and Max. Each version offers unique features and power levels, catering to a wide range of drivers while maintaining top-tier performance.

The Standard model features a rear-wheel drive powered by a 96.3 kWh LFP battery. It delivers 320 PS and an outstanding driving range of up to 835 km on a single charge. This variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.88 seconds, positioning it among the fastest electric family SUVs.

For those seeking stronger performance, the Pro variant offers an all-wheel drive system with 496 PS. Using the same battery as the Standard, it can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.27 seconds, with a driving range of around 770 km.

The top-tier Max variant stands out with a 690 PS output powered by a larger 101.7 kWh NMC battery pack. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.23 seconds, rivaling the acceleration of many high-end sports cars. Despite its power, it maintains a solid range of 760 km.

Advanced Charging Technology for Convenience

All versions of the Xiaomi YU7 support an 800V fast-charging system. This technology allows the SUV to gain about 620 km of driving range in just 15 minutes, significantly reducing charging time and addressing one of the main concerns for electric vehicle owners.

Luxurious and Tech-Filled Interior

Inside the YU7, Xiaomi focuses on comfort and innovation. The cabin features premium Nappa leather seats and front seats equipped with a 10-point massage function. The dashboard includes a panoramic ‘HyperVision’ display that enhances the driving experience.

A key highlight is the advanced autonomous driving system, powered by Nvidia’s DRIVE AGX Thor-U chipset. With a processing power of 700 TOPS and integrated LiDAR and radar sensors, the system offers intelligent and safe navigation capabilities.

Bold Design and Spacious Dimensions

The YU7 SUV measures 4,999 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, and 1,600 mm in height, with a generous wheelbase of 3,000 mm. Xiaomi offers nine exterior color options, including unique shades like Colombian emerald green and metallic titanium, providing plenty of choices for buyers.

Launch and Pricing Details

Set to launch in China by July 2025, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun has revealed that the YU7 will be priced roughly 60,000-70,000 yuan higher than Tesla’s Model Y. This pricing reflects Xiaomi’s aim to position the SUV as a premium product in the electric vehicle market.

Xiaomi’s Expanding EV Ambitions

Following the success of its first EV, the SU7 sedan, with over 258,000 units sold, Xiaomi is preparing to grow its presence in the automotive sector. The company plans to expand its market reach globally by 2027.

The Xiaomi YU7 is more than just a new electric SUV—it represents Xiaomi’s bold commitment to innovation and leadership in the future of electric vehicles.
