Mahindra & Mahindra, one of India’s most renowned automobile manufacturers, is stepping into the future of mobility with a strong focus on electric vehicles. The company is preparing to launch five new electric SUVs by 2026, marking a significant shift toward sustainable transportation on Indian roads.

Built on the INGLO EV Platform

All five of Mahindra’s upcoming electric SUVs will be based on the advanced INGLO EV platform. This platform is designed for flexibility and high efficiency, making it suitable for a wide range of vehicle types. It supports battery capacities between 60 kWh and 80 kWh and is optimized for fast charging. Mahindra claims that vehicles built on this platform can be charged up to 80% in less than 30 minutes, offering convenience and performance in one package.

Introducing the Upcoming Electric SUVs

The first model to debut will be the XUV.e8, which is scheduled for launch around December 2024. This model will bring the popular features of the XUV700 into an all-electric version with an 80 kWh battery. Following this, Mahindra will introduce the XUV.e9 in April 2025. This SUV will be a more stylish five-seater coupe design, combining modern aesthetics with electric innovation.

Strong Financial Commitment to Electric Mobility

Mahindra is backing its electric future with a major financial investment. The company plans to invest ₹27,000 crore into its automotive sector over the next few years. This funding will support both traditional and electric vehicle development, showcasing the brand’s commitment to transformation. By March 2027, Mahindra expects electric vehicles to contribute 20% to 30% of its total SUV sales.
